Biography

Raised in Gloucestershire, England, Cathy's beautiful voice was discovered at an early age. She made her professional debut at the age of 10 in her parents touring theatre company: her father being actor, writer director & her mother composer, musical director & pianist. That was it, her heart was lost to show business! Cathy's parents soon decided to move to London so that she could attend the famous Italia Conti Academy of Dramatic Arts & later the Arts Educational Stage School.

By the age of 14 she was a backing singer for EMI records as well as voicing radio adverts & appearing in BBC TV's Grange Hill. She then followed in her mothers' footsteps & attended Middlesex University, graduating with a BA honours degree in Performance Arts. Summers were spent on courses at Ballet Rambert & London Contemporary Dance schools. During her studies she worked in the wardrobe departments of several West End theatres & became assistant to her childhood idol Cyd Charisse.

Having left college Cathy now applied her various talents to different disciplines in the UK, including acting work on stage & for BBC TV, modeling, singing in various bands & of course pantomime. But she was soon tempted to travel, going with a dance company to Greece & later as a singer/dancer to Monte-Carlo. This proved to be a very successful step in her life & career! She fell in love with the French Riviera & has now been based in Monaco for over 10 years. Cathy loves to talk & soon became fluent in French! In Monte-Carlo she appeared in long running shows at Le Cabaret & the Loews Hotel, now The Fairmont.

Despite the charm of the Côte d’Azur Cathy still enjoys travelling & headlined in the Paris spectacular « Starburst » which ran for a year at the Las Vegas Theatre in Pusan South Korea. During this time she was pleased to perform songs in both Korean & Japanese! Cruise ship contracts, both leading production shows & with her own cabaret acts, have taken her from Greenland to Polynesia.

Back home she has appeared as guest artist in such unusual places as on the mythical train the Orient Express, for a special event attended by Prince Albert of Monaco, & the Carlton Hotels’ private beach for the Cannes film festival. She continues to perform in & around the Principality at such prestigious venues as the Hotel de Paris, The Hermitage & the celebrated Salle des Etoiles of the Monte Carlo Sporting Club as well as touring the beautiful South of France with a regular season of summer jazz concerts.

She has recently released a cd of lullabies from Europe, Lullaby World vol.1,  with her mother Susanna Bearsfoot & her partner in all things, John Seidel.

Cathy also brings her vocal talents & open heart to Sanskrit chanting, alone or with friends, in the context of her role as a yoga teacher & student of life.
